I've been single for a lot of years, after having gotten married too young, and now I've evolved into a reasonable semblance of an adult. I'm actually about 10 years younger than numbers would indicate, but you'll have to verify that for yourself. I've taken several disparate paths (not desperate) in my life, and they have now converged to bring me to a better understanding of self. Those paths have heightened my thirst for travel and language skills, and for producing things of value to this world.
After several years in the business of building theme parks in LA, Florida & Japan, I now enjoy being a Program Manager building schools with the Los Angeles Unified School District. I’ve gotten into the habit of using my motorcycle for everything that doesn’t require driving my truck, and cool/cold weather hasn’t stopped me yet. I do have sense enough come in out of the rain.
I have no children myself, but I just mentored a student from 8th grade into his now freshman year in college. He's the 1st in his extended family to attend college. I sing with the baritones in a choral group, and I got back into SCUBA diving in recent years (much prefer tropical waters), with a coral reef trip to Belize in 2005, and local dives while assisting in training sessions for some high schoolers. I've enjoyed local pleasures, as in a yoga class series, and I enjoy studying languages (as time permits). I also adopted the philosophy that one should attempt to visit a new country every year. 2006 was my year for India. In 2007 it was Thailand. It looks like 2009 will be my next decision. As with most people, there are more time demands than time available, but if I can find the right relationship, the time for it will be there.
My parents and teachers gave me survival skills; I'm responsible for adding richness to my days. Finding a mate will give me a chance to share that richness. It's difficult to "find" chemistry with the right woman, but for me it starts with her eyes. I usually rely on friends to suggest matches, but the needed encounter hasn't happened yet, so occasionally I venture beyond that into the toss of the dice. Here's the toss.
